Nudge Units in Asia: What Drives Adoption?

Farheen Yousuf, a Policy and Trust Analyst at Advanced Study Institute of Asia, recently participated in the Behavioral/Experimental Research Workshop (hashtag#BREW-ESA 2024), held in person at Ashoka University, India, from December 15th to 17th, 2024.

The workshop focused on hashtag#behavioral and hashtag#experimental research in economics, emphasizing its applications to development, environment, and health. It featured distinguished keynote speakers, including: Andy Schotter New York University
Anandi Mani University of Oxford BREW-ESA 2024 was made possible through the generous support of the THE ECONOMIC SCIENCE ASSOCIATION (ESA), the Department of Economics and the Centre for Social and Behaviour Change (CSBC) at Ashoka University.

Farheen’s presented her paper titled “Nudge Units in Asia: What Drives Adoption?” The paper delves into the growing adoption of behavioral insights (or “nudge” units) across Asia, analyzing factors such as economic capacity, government effectiveness, public trust in government, the presence of international organizations, and cultural dynamics that influence their establishment and success.
