Their paper titled “๐ˆ๐ ๐„๐ง๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐œ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‚๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐Ÿ๐ž๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ข๐ง ๐’๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก ๐š๐ง๐ ๐’๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐š๐ฌ๐ญ ๐€๐ฌ๐ข๐š: ๐€ ๐–๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง ๐๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐๐š๐ฌ๐ž๐ ๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐”๐’๐“๐‘ ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ ๐‘๐ž๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ”, selected from submissions across 30+ countries under the theme “Sustainability and Global Development: Comparing IP Protections in Developing vs. Developed Nations,” examines Western views on IP practices in South and Southeast Asia using the USTR Special 301 Report. It critiques the report’s bias toward Western interests and its imposition of standards beyond TRIPS. Highlighting socio-economic and cultural factors driving counterfeit markets, the study calls for equitable IP governance that balances global frameworks with regional priorities.

Their paper will be published in the upcoming book “South Asian Perspectives on Global Intellectual Property: Challenges and Innovations”, bearing the ISBN 978-81-984132-4-6.
