The Geographical Indication Atlas of India is a comprehensive visual journey celebrating the diversity of GI products nationwide. The atlas presents visually engaging representations of a curated selection of GI products, including agricultural goods, handicrafts, manufactured goods, foodstuffs, and natural products. Each featured product is accompanied by its history, uniqueness, method of production, and geographical location, providing a deeper understanding of India’s cultural diversity. This atlas is a tribute to the weavers, artisans, farmers, and craftspeople who breathe life into each unique product.
The Advanced Study Institute of Asia is also working on a comprehensive digital platform Geographical Indications (GIs) atlas, serving as a centralised repository for all relevant GI data. This project aims to create interactive web applications and physical atlas that provide detailed information about over 500 registered GI products in an accessible and engaging format, also exploring the connection between GI products and cultural diversity.
