Sonal Lalwani

Research Associate – Innovation, Law, Governance, & Creative Economy

Sonal Lalwani is currently working as a Research Associate – Innovation, Law, Governance, & Creative Economy at the Advanced Study Institute of Asia, SGT University, New Delhi, a role she has held since December, 2025 focusing on technology, innovation and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). 

Sonal completed her B.A., LL.B. (Intellectual Property Rights Hons.) from National Law University, Jodhpur in 2023 and her LL.M. (Intellectual Property Rights and Technology Law) from Jindal Global Law School, O.P. Jindal Global University in 2025. She has also completed DL303E – Specialised Distance Learning Course on the Madrid System and DL – 101 General Course on Intellectual Property (version 2)(en) from World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). 


She has previously worked in the capacity of Senior Content Editor, Centre for Intellectual Property Studies Blog, NLU Jodhpur and has published articles on various aspects of Intellectual Property Rights. She also has accumulated extensive internship experience in the field of Intellectual Property Rights by interning with various boutique IP law firms and teams in India.
