Prime[D] to Buy: Flash Sales & Deceptive Design

On 5th December 2024 the Advanced Study Institute of Asia (ASIA) launched its flagship report, Prime[D] to Buy: Flash Sales & Deceptive Design. We found that all 26 apps analysed had deceptive design (hashtag#darkpattern). The event featured experts from the Internet Freedom Foundation, Aapti Institute, Grant Thornton, and the Future Privacy Forum, who called for stronger compliance frameworks and ethical digital design.
