Monsoon: The Sphere of Cultural and Trade Influence’ conference, organised by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts(IGNCA)in collaboration with the Advanced Study Institute of Asia (ASIA) at SGT UNIVERSITY on 12-13th Feb, 2025, delved into India’s profound cultural and maritime heritage across the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). Honorable Minister of Culture and Tourism Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat ji highlighted India’s rich traditions as the foundation of its influence throughout the IOR. The conference underscored India’s historical and contemporary maritime partnerships, emphasizing the nation’s role in fostering regional connectivity and security.
