The Advanced Study Institute of Asia (ASIA) is proud to participate in the World Health Organization’s annual International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week 2024. Over the past six months, ASIA has diligently conducted research, identified critical gaps, and made meaningful strides in addressing lead poisoning through a variety of initiatives.
Our efforts have included the publication of research findings in the form of policy notes, working papers, and opinion pieces. We have successfully organized events (Research Roundtable, Progress and Policy Colloquia, EGM Workshop) and partnered with several esteemed national and international organizations, including Pure Earth Bangladesh, Centre for Global Development, ESDO Bangladesh, CEPHED Nepal, TERI India, Unleaded Kids, LEAPP Alliance, Lead Aware NZ, AARDO, and more.
As part of our ongoing commitment, we are excited to announce the launch of a comprehensive lead awareness campaign across social media platforms. Our aim is to engage various stakeholders, including young mothers, parents, policymakers, government officials, and NGOs, to raise awareness about the hazards of lead poisoning and the importance of taking corrective action.
The campaign will feature:
– Social media outreach targeting key audiences
– Policy briefs to inform decision-makers
– A virtual webinar to discuss lead poisoning prevention strategies
– Outreach activities to engage local communities
– A series of informative social media posts to spread awareness
