Singapore on Tuesday signed deals worth at least US$234 million with Google and ChatGPT developer OpenAI to cement its position as a regional AI hub, while Thailand last August approved a US$774 million plan to boost AI integration across key sectors such as education and agriculture.
But the rush to capitalise on the AI boom has also exposed structural issues across the region.
