The Advanced Study Institute of Asia (ASIA) at SGT University is pleased to announce a groundbreaking partnership with the African-Asian Rural Development Organization (AARDO). This collaboration aims to tackle the critical health threat posed by lead poisoning, which affects rural populations across both Africa and Asia.
A landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in a ceremony attended by distinguished representatives from both organizations. The event was graced by ASIA’s Chairman, Sh. Najeeb Jung, and AARDO’s Secretary-General, His Excellency Dr. Manoj Nardeosingh. Other key attendees included Kamal Dhameja, Dr. Sanjeeb Kumar Behera, Joginder Yadav (Registrar, SGT University), Anil S. Kumar (CEO, SGT University), Dr. Reshu Sanan (Dean of International Relations, SGT University), Prof. Amogh Rai (Research Director, ASIA), and the dedicated ASIA team.
During the event, His Excellency Dr. Nardeosingh highlighted the severe consequences of lead exposure in children, noting its correlation with significant IQ loss and resulting cognitive and behavioral challenges. AARDO is committed to addressing these pressing issues by investing in research, technology, and innovative solutions to improve outcomes for affected communities.
Both organizations have pledged to confront the hazards of lead exposure, particularly in vulnerable populations, with a strong emphasis on protecting children and women. This partnership represents a concerted effort to raise awareness, empower rural communities, and enhance public health outcomes through collaborative research and shared knowledge.
Together, ASIA and AARDO are poised to make significant strides in combating lead poisoning, ensuring healthier futures for rural populations across Africa and Asia.
